The Program

Financial literacy can help low income families avoid high cost predatory business practices, prepare for emergencies, and save for major assets including housing, education, a car, or starting a business. Many organizations in Rhode Island and elsewhere are expanding programs and trying new approaches.

Goals of the Conference

  1. Increase understanding of the need for financial education for low-income families, youth, and immigrants.
  2. Increase awareness of existing local programs
  3. Learn about innovative approaches and best practices
  4. Stimulate the development of effective programs, partnerships, and more efficient use of resources.
