The Boston Fed hires economists, analysts, and research assistants for work in the Research Department and the Supervision, Regulation and Credit Department.
- Economists
The Research Department is looking to hire three new or experienced economists specializing in macroeconomics, with expertise in some or most of the following fields: monetary economics, international macroeconomics, and macro behavioral economics. The economist is expected to conduct and publish self-directed policy-oriented research and will advise senior Bank management on issues within field of expertise. Requirements include a Ph.D. in economics; excellent undergraduate and graduate performance; demonstrated research capability; strong written and oral communication skills. Salary and position are commensurate with background and experience.
- Financial Economist / Senior Financial Economist
This position is in the Risk and Policy Analysis Unit (formerly known as the Quantitative Analysis Unit) of the Bank Supervision Department. Primary responsibilities include producing policy-oriented research for publication in refereed journals, advising senior management on policy issues related to the regulation of financial institutions and financial markets, and participating in risk assessments and supervision at large financial institutions. The job also involves a considerable amount of travel.
- Research Associate - Consumer Payments Research Center (CPRC)
The CPRC is seeking a Ph.D. graduate student who might benefit from the opportunity to take an active role in economic research and policy analysis on household finance as part of our Research Assistant Program.
