Peanuts & Crackerjacks has been developed for play on PC and Macintosh
platforms. Certain hardware and software requirements must be met, and
you may need to modify your computer and browser settings for optimal
play.

Back Button
Do not use the Back button during game play. The game may lock up or
malfunction if you do so.
Display
Set your screen's resolution to 800x600 for optimal play.
For PCs, right click the desktop, choose Properties | Settings. Under
"Display area", make sure that the Screen and Desktop resolutions
are set to 800x600. Adjust the resolution if needed. You may restore
the screen resolution after you have finished playing.
For Macintosh computers, go under the Apple Menu, select Control Panels
| Monitors (or Monitors & Sound for System 8.5 users). Under Resolution,
make sure the screen is set to 800x600. You may restore the screen resolution
after you have finished playing.
JavaScript
JavaScript must be enabled to play the game.
For Netscape browsers, under the Edit menu, select Preferences | Advanced,
and make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
For Internet Explorer browsers, under the View menu, select Internet
Options | Security | Custom | Settings | Scripting | Active Scripting
and pick "Enable".
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
For best results, style sheets should be enabled on your browser.
For Netscape browsers, under the Edit menu, select Preferences | Advanced,
and make sure "Enable style sheets" is checked.
Internet Explorer browsers automatically handle CSS.
Cache Settings
To optimize the game flow, set your browser to compare its cache once
per session. The game downloads completely at one time and the game may
slow down considerably if the browser continually checks for changes on
the Internet server during high traffic periods.
For Netscape browsers, under the Edit menu, select Preferences | Advanced
| Cache, and select "Once per session."
For Internet Explorer browsers, select View | Internet Options | General
| Settings. Choose "Every time you start Internet Explorer."
Your browser's cache setting may also need to be set higher for the game
to flow smoothly.
For Netscape, select Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Cache and increase
your Memory and Disk cache.
For Internet Explorer, select View | Internet Options| General | Settings.
Move the slider to the right to use more of the available drive space
on your computer.
If the game continues to misbehave after you have fixed possible problems,
you may need to delete the browsers cache.
For Netscape, select Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Cache and click
"Clear Memory cache" and "OK" as well as "Clear
disk cache" and "OK".
For Internet Explorer, select View | Internet Options... and in the
Temporary Internet files section, click the "Delete Files"
button and "OK."
Reload / Refresh
Do not use the Reload (Netscape) or Refresh (Internet Explorer) buttons
during game play. The game may lock up or malfunction if you do so.
Save
There is no save feature; however, you may begin the game at any inning
you wish. On the game page, click the "play a specific inning"
link to select the inning you want.
Sound
Peanuts & Crackerjacks features a version which plays background
sound as well as hit specific sounds. Try this version only if you do
have plenty of PC memory and processing speed. If you encounter difficulties,
chances are the resources on your PC are not adequate for the game to
run smoothly. Play to game without sound if your PC is on a network that
filters out sound files.
Security
Peanuts & Crackerjacks was created as a web "infotainment"
application and contains no programming that compromises your computers
security.
Other Problems
If you experience other problems during game play, such as the game freezing
or crashing, then there are a few possible causes:
- too many applications are running at once; if there are several applications
running on your computer, close them, restart the game and go to the
inning you left off.
- your computer does not have enough RAM (see game requirements above);
- your computer is not powerful enough to run the game (see game requirements
above);
- your Internet connection is not fast enough;
- the host Internet Service Provider (ISP) has a lot of traffic, is
updating its content, or is experiencing difficulties;
- your computers browser is not capable of processing the game
(see game requirements);
- your computer is part of a network that excludes some portions of
this game from downloading (i.e., a firewall is present).
